Essential Oil Guide - F

Fennel Sweet (Foeniculum vulgare) has a sweet liquorice scent. This essential oil is similar to Dill for its soothing action on the digestive system, relieving nausea and abdominal cramping. Additionally, when used in a massage Fennel helps encourage the release of toxins and may help with fluid retention and muscle tone. Fennel is known as an expectorant and can help clear congestion. It is mentally stimulating and improves clarity, focus and concentration.

Fir Needle (Abies alba) has a clean, pleasant, balsamic-coniferous aroma. This essential oil is emotionally energizing and can help reduce anxiety. Fir makes a great deodorizing room spray, especially during the winter months to help with the ‘winter blues.’ It is warming and grounding. Often used for muscular aches and is beneficial to a healthy respiratory system, soothing coughs and relieving sinus congestion.

Frankincense (Boswellia neglecta) has a fresh, woody, slightly sweet resinous scent. This essential oil is traditionally used for its sacred healing qualities and is thought to slow and deepen your breathing which is conducive for meditation. Frankincense is spiritually grounding and is calming and relaxing without being sedative.  Frankincense is one of the best essential oils for mature, dry or problematic skin and was used in ancient Egypt in rejuvenating face masks and cosmetics. Supportive to healthy respiratory, digestive and reproductive systems.
